Hi, I’m Sureeta Karod RCC. I grew up in Nanaimo and attended the University of Victoria. I am so grateful to be serving the mental health needs of my community. I come to my passion for counselling having worked extensively in the field and having witnessed it’s life changing healing. My experiences and learning across our beautiful province led me to this passion of working one on one with individuals and couples with whom I feel my skills are most helpful and the results most meaningful.
Counselling is a journey into oneself and it is my honour to support my clients on this quest.
After graduating from the University of Victoria I obtained my I Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have provided counselling in various settings, including residential addiction treatment, pain management, and crisis counselling. I incorporate practices from various counselling modalities, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectic behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and narrative therapy. My approach is holistic in nature and focuses on helping clients to identify their strengths, gain confidence, self esteem and apply this growth to overcoming their barriers to well-being.
No symptom or experience is too big to overcome when we feel safe and have the right support by our side. My support, guidance and care are my commitment to you.
Sureeta works from our downtown Nanaimo location at 401 – 755 Terminal Ave N, Nanaimo.
